The Anti-Ragging Committee at MCPS ensures that ragging is strictly prohibited within the campus. Any individual found guilty of ragging or aiding, either directly or indirectly, or involved in any conspiracy to promote ragging, will face disciplinary action under the UGC Regulations 2009, in addition to being subject to applicable penal laws in effect.
Aims & Objectives:
1.
The committee will implement Anti-Ragging Regulations in accordance with the regulations set by statutory authorities.
2.
Ensure that students submit a mandatory anti-ragging undertaking in the prescribed format during admission.
3.
Propose measures to enhance vigilance and prevent any acts of ragging.
4.
Ensure that all students, both new and senior, as well as staff, are informed and aware of anti-ragging policies.
5.
Confirm that any actions taken align with the guidelines of the relevant regulatory bodies.
6.
Regularly circulate reports on anti-ragging actions taken to the appropriate authorities within the institution.
7.
In cases where students are found to be involved in ragging or exploiting new students in any form, the following disciplinary actions will be enforced:
a.
Suspension from attending classes
b.
Revocation of scholarships, fellowships, or other benefits
c.
Prohibition from taking tests or participating in examinations
MCPS encourages all students to report any instances of ragging without fear, ensuring that strict action is taken to eliminate this harmful practice. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1.
Develop a system to receive, process, and address all reports related to incidents of ragging.
2.
Provide guidance to the Disciplinary Committee and any subcommittees regarding new policies or directives on handling ragging cases, as necessary.
3.
Address grievances related to ragging in a timely manner.
4.
Raise awareness among faculty and staff about issues of ragging and their responsibilities in preventing it.
5.
Consult experts for guidance on complex ragging cases, when necessary, in addition to recommendations from relevant committees.
6.
Compile and submit biannual reports summarizing grievances related to ragging, along with any necessary recommendations.
